Please join fellow Charlotte area ruggers, fans and community members to STANDUP against bullying with Ben Cohen and raise funds to help support the StandUp Foundation. Ben Cohen, MBE, is an England Rugby World Cup champion, and among the worlds greatest athletes. He ranks second in all-time scoring for England, and first among straight professional athletes to focus his philanthropic efforts for the benefit of the LGBT community. Launched last May 2011, the Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation, Inc. is the worlds first foundation dedicated to raising awareness of the long-term, damaging effects of bullying, and funding those doing real-world work to stop it. Five U.S. charitable organizations were selected to be educational network partners of the StandUp Foundation including Campus Pride, Human Rights Campaign, GLSEN, Matthew Shepard Foundation and Trevor Project. Monies from the StandUp Foundation benefit these U.S. network partners and their work against bullying. "When we stand up together, we stand up a bit taller" says Cohen. There will be a $10 Suggested Donation at the door with the Auction beginning at 8:15 p.m. Light Refreshment will be provided and all of the proceeds will benefit the StandUp Foundation.
