We walk bravely because it’s our opportunity to stand up and be counted. All of us will have had our lives forever changed by HIV.
The 18th annual AIDS Walk Charlotte is the largest HIV awareness and fundraising event in the Carolinas and is a visual representation of our communities’ commitment to HIV and AIDS. On Saturday, May 3rd over 2,000 brave individuals will walk two miles through the heart of uptown Charlotte in celebration of the past, present, and an HIV free future.
AIDS Walk Charlotte is the signature fundraising event for RAIN (Regional AIDS Interfaith Network), who has served Charlotte since 1992. RAIN’s mission is to engage the community and to transform lives and promote respect and dignity for all people touched by HIV through compassionate care, education, and leadership development.
The walk is approximately two miles long and takes the average person about 30 minutes. There is a morning program to kick-off and a brief closing ceremony will follow after the walk. Water is provided for free to all registered walkers. AIDS WALK Charlotte is a family affair (kids and pets are welcomed) and welcomes all that want to participate.
