Wow! Q, That sounds awful.. I'm sorry you had to go through that. Anyways, I've had a few good times at liasons. Though, they seem to stare at all of us when we walked in the door too, and anybody else who walked in the door. It was pretty intimidating so we B lined it to get a drink and then right to the patio.

I did not believe that Charlotte's gay scene would be so segregated but it is true. Liason is a decent club for bitch, unattractive, white boiz who work at target. However please dont go there if you are a black because they will look at you like you are straight, or a common thug. Its sad that in a group of minorities we find yet more ways to disassociate ourselves from one another based on something as superficial as race. With all the hate crimes, and anti-gay legislature being passed I think its time we make everyone feel welcome in our community. If I saw a white gay man getting beat with a baseball bat I would not hesitate to come to his aid becuase I believe we are all in this together. People need to realize that the clubs are a central place for gay men to let loose and be themselves, it is our sanctuary. Who has the right in our community to think they are better than someone else because they don't want to accept their own insecurities. None of us are perfect but we are ALL gay. We need each other to survive this onslaught against anything that opposes the traditional puritan structure of society. Besides you know you think we are cute, just dont expect us to jump when you think so. Maybe if you show us (Blacks) some respect in the club and in the malls we might let go of some of our shit that makes us so stand- offish at times. It's all about love. Nothing else matters.

WE visited this club/bar after we found Velocity on a Friday frickin night to be a big BOOOO!!!. I had emailed before we traveled to Charlotte a picture of my partner and I to Liasons. They still had a copy of it at front entrance, LOLOLOLOL, what a hoot that was, they were very friendly, welcoming unlike Velocity and extremely hospitable. I must say we really wanted to dance but this sufficed in that we were around friendly people. What was so funny is that every worker recognized us from the pic I had sent. That is what I call being welcomed. If anything else as a reason to visit this place, its for the friendly staff. This makes a world of difference in how a club is perceived. If I could give any advice to Velocity, be more inviting to your guests. We are not just dollar signs for you.
